Maison Sérenne Foundation
Purpose, dignity, and responsibility in action
The Maison Sérenne Foundation exists to address the social and environmental challenges connected to clothing, health, and wellbeing.
Rooted in principles of dignity, sustainability, and inclusion, the Foundation delivers practical initiatives that support individuals, communities, and the environment.
Our work sits at the intersection of fashion, health, education, and environmental responsibility, ensuring that purpose is embedded in everything we do.

Our Mission
The Foundation is established for the public benefit, with a focus on:
-
Relieving poverty and financial hardship through access to clothing and garments
-
Advancing health and wellbeing through adaptive and specialist clothing
-
Providing education and skills development in sustainable fashion and textile practices
-
Protecting the environment by reducing textile waste and promoting reuse and upcycling

We believe clothing should offer comfort, dignity, and care without compromising environmental responsibility.

What We Do
The Foundation delivers its mission through carefully designed, needs-led initiatives, including:
Clothing Access & Dignity
We support individuals and families who are unable to afford clothing by facilitating clothing reuse, donation, hire, and upcycling schemes. These initiatives are designed to restore dignity while reducing waste.
Health & Specialist Clothing
We design and promote adaptive, medical, and specialist garments intended to improve comfort, accessibility, and wellbeing for people who are ill, disabled, living with long-term conditions, or receiving medical or palliative care.
Education & Skills
We deliver education and training in sewing, garment production, textile reuse, and sustainable fashion practices. Learning is delivered on a project-based basis, both in the UK and internationally, with a focus on disadvantaged or marginalised communities.
Environmental Sustainability
We promote sustainable fashion by reducing textile waste, encouraging reuse and upcycling, and raising awareness of the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry.

Our Approach
The Foundation works on a planned, project-based model, allowing flexibility to respond to need while maintaining focus and impact. Educational activity will vary depending on programmes in operation, with delivery increasing as the Foundation develops its services and funding capacity.
We prioritise:
-
Practical outcomes over performative gestures
-
Long-term benefit over short-term visibility
-
Transparency, accountability, and measurable impact
All activities are overseen by the trustees to ensure they remain aligned with our charitable purposes and deliver clear public benefit.

Our commitment is simple:
To ensure that fashion can be a force for dignity, care, and positive change.

Maison Sérenne Foundation exists to prove that refinement and responsibility can, and should, coexist.
